Amara is a New York-based director and artist with a passion for cinematography and immersive worldbuilding. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for Film & Television in 2018, Amara now works at BBC Studios in New York as Video Content Coordinator. She’s also worked in a variety of environments, from MIT’s Robot Locomotion lab to the Documentary Unit at CNN. She has directed projects ranging from documentaries to narrative short films, as well as music videos and commercial specs. Amara can often be found in the camera or G&E units on set, or making maps of fantastical worlds and writing science fiction stories.

In 2019, Amara was awarded the Clive Davis Award for Excellence in Music in Film and the Todd Martin Film Production Award for her thesis film, In Suspension, coming soon.
